A Sister's Skin Cancer Scare Changed Everything

Michelle Peth's red-headed sister had always struggled with sun sensitivity — and when skin cancer scares became a reality in their family, Michelle knew something had to change. She refused to accept that the only options were burning in the sun or giving up that golden glow altogether. So she set out to create something better: a safer, natural alternative that would let women feel radiant without putting their health at risk. That mission became BeetTan.

Built from Scratch — One Spray Tan at a Time

In 2014, Michelle was a single mom and bartender in Savannah, Georgia, hustling to make ends meet. She learned spray tanning as a side gig — and quickly realized she had found something special. Customers loved the results. Word spread. But growing a business takes capital, and the banks said no. So Michelle did what entrepreneurs do: she got her real estate license, funded the business herself, and built BeetTan from her home, one client at a time.

From a Savannah Living Room to 500+ Locations Nationwide

What started as a local service grew organically into something Michelle never could have imagined. Today, BeetTan products are carried in 500+ wholesale locations across the country. The formulas — crafted with sensitive skin in mind from day one — have earned a loyal following of customers who trust what goes on their skin.

Empowering Women, One Tan at a Time

Michelle's journey didn't just build a brand — it became a blueprint. Through BeetTan's Spray Tan Certification Programs, she now helps other women launch their own businesses, create their own income, and find their own freedom. It's the same hustle, the same heart, passed forward.

She also hosts The Beet Goes On podcast, amplifying the voices of small business owners and entrepreneurs — because Michelle knows firsthand that the best stories are the ones that almost didn't happen.
